Command Master Chief Celina A. Miller, a California native, enlisted in the Navy in Sept. 1998. She transferred to USS Shippingport(ARDM-4) in Dec. 1998. While onboard she worked in various departments such as engineering, deck, and administrative. In July 2000, she was advanced to Yeoman Third Class. Oct. 2000 she reported to Naval Station Sigonella, Italy for a tour of duty with the Security Detachment as an independent Yeoman. In Nov. 2002, she advanced to Yeoman Second Class. She was then assigned to Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron FOUR as the Administrative Department Leading Petty Officer. On 7 June 2007, she was advanced to Yeoman First Class. While there, she earned her Aviation Warfare device in February 2007 and completed her Associates of the Arts in Administrative Studies at Thomas Edison State College in Spet. 2007. In 2009, she volunteered for combat duty in Afghanistan, serving with 101st AIRBORNE and 82 ND Infantry Division in the operations department while completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care from Bellevue University. During her tour, she was advanced to Chief Petty Officer.

Oct. 2010, she served onboard the USS Ashland(LSD 48), completing a 21-month EDPMA, INSURV, and preparing Ashland for a homeport shift. While deployed in 2013, she was advanced to Senior Chief Yeoman and returned the USS Tortuga (LSD 49) to Joint Expeditionary Base–Little Creek. After completing the homeport shift, Miller attended the Air Force Senior Enlisted Academy at Maxwell Air Force Base.

In Jan. 2014, she reported to Navy Supply Fleet Logistics Center Sigonella, Sicily as the Military Personnel Officer and Command Career Counselor. In March 2016, she was selected to the Command Senior Chief program and earned her Master’s Degree in Science. In Feb. 2017, she attended the Command Master Chief Course in Newport Road Island. April 2017 until April 2020, she served as the USS Halsey (DDG 97) Command Master Chief.

Miller is currently serving as the Command Master Chief for Commander Destroyer Squadron FIFTY and Commander task Force FIVE FIVE.

Her personal awards include one Meritorious Service Medal, two Joint Commendation Medals, two Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, three Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, and various service and campaign awards.
