Lieutenant Commander Jason B. King
Executive Officer
A native of south Texas, Lieutenant Commander King earned a B.S. in Physics in 2002 from Mississippi State University. He worked at Federal Express as an operations engineer until he commissioned in the Navy through Officer Candidate School in 2008.
He served as the Repair Division Officer aboard USS STETHEM (DDG 63), homeported in Yokosuka, Japan. He completed his second division officer tour aboard USS STOUT (DDG 55), homeported in Norfolk as the Training Officer. He joined the staff at Aegis Training and Readiness Center in Dahlgren, serving as the Aegis Baseline 9 and Ballistic Missile Defense course supervisor. In 2015, LCDR King was selected into the advanced Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) tactics program, where he earned his patch as an IAMD Warfare Tactics Instructor (WTI).
He served as the Weapons Officer in USS BARRY (DDG 52) completing two patrols in the SEVENTH FLEET AOR. He fleeted up to Combat Systems Officer aboard USS BARRY, leading her through a 19 month Extended Dry Dock Availability, Basic Phase and INSURV.
LCDR King’s personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal and Navy Achievement Medal.
