Welcome Aboard!

Welcome aboard USS Gravely (DDG 107)! GRAVELY is a Flight IIA Arleigh Burke-Class guided-missile destroyer homeported in Norfolk VA, and is the finest warship amongst her peers.  Onboard you will find a disciplined, proficient, and well-rounded crew that works day-in and day-out to take GRAVELY to sea with pride.

The ship’s namesake, Vice Admiral Samuel Lee Gravely, Jr., was a distinguished naval officer who made history throughout his tenure, from being the first African-American officer to command a warship to being the first to achieve the rank of a flag officer.  You can learn more about Vice Admiral Gravely on our website and at https://www.history.navy.mil/browse-by-topic/people/trailblazers/samuel-gravely.html.

As one of the Navy’s most versatile platforms, GRAVELY is ready to execute a wide variety of missions at a moment’s notice.  Regardless of your rank and rate, you will find your time onboard to be both challenging and rewarding.  If you do not yet have a sponsor, please email sponsor@ddg107.navy.mil and our team will get you in touch with one of our crew to best assist with your transition.  Once again, welcome aboard—we are excited for your addition to our crew!

Best,

Team GRAVELY
