Lt. Brian Skirvin, a native of Houston, enlisted in the Navy in 2003 as a Gas Turbine Systems Technician (Electrical). In 2013 Skirvin commissioned through the Limited Duty Officer program as a Surface Engineering Repair Officer.

Skirvin’s sea duty assignments includes: Engineering Officer of the Watch aboard USS Arleigh Burke (DDG 51); Main Propulsion Assistant aboard USS Donald Cook (DDG 51); Damage Control Assistant aboard USS San Antonio (LPD 17); and most recently, Executive Officer aboard USS Hué City (CG 66).

Skirvin has served ashore as a Ship Yard Duty Officer at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. 

His personal awards include Navy and Marine Corp Achievement Medal (five awards).
